Woodturning – Wooden Beer Stein

Woodturning - Wooden Beer Stein
We took the mobile shop to Leavenworth Wa, and filmed this weeks project. I thought a beer stein was only fitting for this trip. Leavenworth is a Bavarian-styled village in the Cascade Mountains, in central Washington State. I found a great spot on the Wenatchee River to film making the cup part of the stein. Then we headed south to the Columbia river gorge to make the handle. My buddy Jamie from England gave me this scroll saw, so I thought this replica of Stonehenge (World War 1 Memorial) would be a great place to film this part.

  1. We took the mobile shop to Leavenworth Wa, and filmed this weeks project. I thought a beer stein was only fitting for this trip. Leavenworth is a Bavarian-styled village in the Cascade Mountains, in central Washington State.

  2. I visited Leavenworth many times with my family. My fave store was the dollhouse store (one of those basement shops you get to by descending a long staircase). I was disappointed it was no more when I visited by myself in June '15.

  3. A little disappointing Carl. I subscribed because I really love watching you turn. I can only hope your next video has more than 95 seconds of actual turning in it…

  4. Are you not doing live shows anymore? I'm having trouble getting a good shine on my eastern red cedar turnings. I know you like a dull finish but I was hoping you could help. I read that poly's don't work, after I used poly a few times…. 🙁

  5. I found myself in that little town in the summer of 1982! The Wenatchee River is where my wife and I were camping when we got engaged on July 4th weekend, 1986! Oh. Great stein, too!!

  6. Great work Carl!!……Where did you find the kits for a pool cue?……I'd love to make a couple of those!!…..thnx again for the wonderful and creative videos!!
