Woodturning – Turned and Carved Maple Vase

Woodturning - Turned and Carved Maple Vase
In this video Robin and I turned this vase one the lathe. Robin shaped the outside and I hollowed it out and carved the top to look like water.

  1. In this video Robin and I turned this vase one the lathe. Robin shaped the outside and I hollowed it out and carved the top to look like water. I put links to all the tools I use in the description.

  2. AMAZING Carl ! Just gets better and better get your ass down to Georgia so I can come check you out ! Take care bud…….John

  3. Looks great, I thought that was a hybrid blank from the thumbnail. That wood dye is some good stuff. Another great video my friend. Drive safe and enjoy yourself. It's probably gonna be a really nice drive this time of year.

  4. Good lord Carl that blue is so shiny I thought that it was resin gonna need to find me all my fave colors like that is one of em Cobalt Blue, I need Emerald Green and Crimson red for my stuff.

By the way I am going to send a message to you on Facebook if you don't mind. I just need small advice and more experienced Wood Workers advice and I am a beginner for sure not even got a lathe yet that;s my Christmas I hope. Hope I don;t sound odd my friend, Things sound good in my head but after typing them some times it gets awkward.

  5. Cool project guys,Robin needs her own turning channel!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  6. Love it !!! Great team work !!! Carl as usual : You ROCK and Robin you ROLL !!! Both of you are creating a fantastic melody while creating your piece of art. You have invented the rock and roll art ! Thank you for this moment !!!

  7. Well I took a break from polishing a 5 yr old project. Saw your channel and well……
It will be a 6 yr old project now. Lol

  8. Thank you, Carl, for another great video. It's good to see Robin at the lathe. With regards to filling in your water overflow, I'm wondering did you consider epoxy putty. It sells in the UK and Ireland under the name Milliput and was made popular by Jim Overton who uploads under "jimson's stuff" Sales of the stuff have rocketed and they are about to bring out a turquoise colour. It hardens overnight and turns superbly.
