Rough Turning Green Wood & Air Dry It In A Paper Bag.
I rough turned this bowl on the lathe, and packed in in the shaving to dry. It will take a few months for the bowl to dry in the bag.

  1. I rough turned this bowl on the lathe, and packed in in the shaving to dry. It will take a few months for the bowl to dry in the bag.

  2. On one of these 12" lathes can you turn all the way to the bottom of the bowl with a bowl gouge if you don't have the fancy carbide tool or scraper?

  3. I am saving the money I get from using your tips (like latex paint and mineral oil for tool protection) towards the purchase of a decent bandsaw. I was looking at a 14" Jet but not sure it would handle the size wood like you are using in this video. Really liked that bowl sizing jig at the start of this video. Definitely on my "To Make" list.
And as always Thank You for the Super Great job of putting your words into language I can understand!

  4. This is a great idea.  It would be hard to wait 2 months to pull it out and use it though.
