HOW TO BUILD THE SAMURAI MALLET!!!

  1. I have been watching your videos lately and have really liked you mix of styles and techniques. I started out with Japanese saws until I could afford to buy quality push saws which cost WAY more and require much more effort to become proficient and require way more maintenance. I have started to revisit my pull saws due to your videos and have been surprised with how quickly I can produce quality results with them.

  2. Glad to see you using the ole Danish Oil. My favourite finish. I treat guitars with that and people think I'm mad, but it's such good stuff. Much more natural finish than polyurethanes. Was that padauk wedges there?

  3. What's the brand of the round carpenters mallet with rubber (?) on that you use some times. It's peaking up in the lower left of the screen in the end of this video 🙂

  4. Kan you also make a knight mallet for woodworking? Or what about a hussar mallet? That would be cool. Or maybe expand it further to other professions like an accountant mallet, a scribe mallet or a philosophers mallet.

  5. Just wondering, why first sanding then chiseling surface – chisels don't like it.
You could round the head with chisels or plane, without any problem.

  6. Jesse, does there need to be a taper at the top of the mallet head hole to accomodate the spread of the handle?
