An attractive way to add interest to bowls using the Flute Master slot cutting router and a custom mounting jig.
(Apologies for the truss and hanging wires in the shot!!!)
Part 1 – Turn the Bowl
Part 2 – Setup the jig and cut slots
Buddy Compton is retired from service in our public schools and is a past president of the Southwest Association of Turners (SWAT). Buddy works with all woods, but his preference is mesquite. His pieces vary in shape and design which are dictated by the wood type, size and defects such as cracks, knots and bark inclusions. Buddy’s goal is to turn pieces of high quality that will fit well in any gallery.
In this demo, Buddy turns a bowl then sets up a custom base for the Flute Master slot cutting tool.
Our club meets the first Monday of each month in Denton, Texas in the Center for the Visual Arts (Corner of Hickory and Belle Streets) at 7PM. All are welcome to attend!!
